The Fund
Where the money goes
FDT Athletic Club has a giving fund, and it is already paid for. It is not yet running as a per-item programme, and no part of what you pay today is a charitable donation. We would rather open this page early and honestly than backdate a claim later.
- What we have done
- Participation Trophy Brewing Co. has set aside $2,500.00 of company money — ours, not yours, unconnected to any sale — for organisations working on press freedom and due process. That money is committed whether or not we ever sell a piece.
- What opens next
- When the written agreements are countersigned, every FDT Athletic Club item sold will carry a fixed $5.00donation. Per item, not per order. Not a percentage, not a portion, not “proceeds”. Units, dollars accrued, dollars remitted, dates and receipts all land on this page.
- Why it is not live
- The law requires a signed written agreement with a charity before a business advertises that buying something benefits it. We agree with that law. The agreements are out. The day both come back countersigned, this page changes, the recipients are named here in full with their EINs, and the counter starts at zero in public.
- Who they are
- Two organisations, both 501(c)(3), neither a campaign, a candidate, a political action committee nor a party organisation — we ruled those out deliberately. Neither has agreed to anything yet. That is what a signature is for, so we are not going to put their names in our marketing before they have put their names on a page. We picked them for the work, not for a mailing list.
- Your taxes
- Nothing you buy here today is a charitable contribution, and nothing you buy after the programme opens will be one either. You are buying a garment. We are the donor.
